this domain was created september 7th, 2002. :) i had been wanting a domain for quite a while at that time, and i was finally allowed to buy one with my excess birthday money on this date. originally, i just wanted to purchase a domain for fun (kind of like a "just to have one" deal), but as i began making more and more websites, i realized how annoying it was not having all my sites on the same server. not to mention the fact that all those free webpage hosts were driving me insane, what with their pop-up ads, bandwidth limits, and non-direct-linking policies. i figured it was time to find a better alternative, and this domain was definitely it.

i'm not quite sure where exactly the name of the site came from. i knew i wanted something that sounded elegant, and i also wanted something to do with wind - after all, my name is windy-chan. duh. "zephyr" seemed like a pretty word to use, and so did "silver". i guess i just combined them to make silver-zephyr.net.

my hosting plan and domain registration reside with cyberpixels. i would recommend them highly - they're an excellent service. the plans can be a bit pricey at times (i pay $160.00 for 500 megs and a domain yearly), but you get loads of great features with them. :) just about anything you can think of - frontpage support, mySQL, PHP and perl support, free scripts, unlimited FTP accounts, subdomains, etc. if you're willing to shell out the money, then cyberpixels is going to be worth it for you. ^_^

what do you use to make your site?
just an excellent graphics editor - adobe photoshop 7.0 - and windows notepad. ^_^ plus, some tutorials i pick up here and there, and a bit of html knowledge.

this is a small collection of all the past layouts s-z.net (along with the now-dead humeirou) has had over the span of its existence. :) there are only three right now (including the current layout), but we're sure there'll be more soon.

silver-zephyr.net

version one - silent tsunami - september '02 - august '03

this is version one's splash page. :3 pretty simple, but i threw it together in a few minutes, so... ^_^;

and this would be the actual main page, the pop-up. this was fairly simplistic, and easy to make. the image used is a manga picture of michiru kaioh, from bishoujo senshi sailormoon. i really liked this for quite a while. it was a pretty layout. ^^ had a few problems, though - like the gaps from the justified text and the image links (i wanted to change them later, but couldn't... yea, that was a problem). all in all, though, a decent first layout for the domain.

humeirou

version two - blue dream wave - january '02 - august '03

this layout, designed by the now-closed silvery dreams graphics and featuring tidus from ffx, was up for... a very long time. ^_^; mostly because i didn't do anything with the site for an entire year, and thus, it sat there, unchanged. i really, really like this layout, though. i had a humongous obsession with tidus when i first received the layout, and i was so thrilled with it i just decided to keep it up (even after the site went dead again). so yea. this was humeirou's last layout before i transferred the site over to the main page. :)
